Tic Tac Toe Challenge #182

Hi,  I'm back this morning with some fall cards for the Tic Tac Toe Challenge #182 (TTTC182).

All of my cards today use the right side- Fold Card, Sparkle, Fall Colors.

I just love this fall patterned paper.  And a sheet of gold glitter cardstock works perfectly to add some sparkle to the sentiment from Pinkfresh Studios.

For the next card I die cut a bunch of fall leaves in various fall colors and layered them under the edge of a popped up panel.  I added a strip of copper metallic cardstock and rose gold glitter cardstock.

This next one is similar to the first but I added some die cut leaves and switched around the sentiment with the glitter cardstock as the word instead of the offset.  Which do you like better?

The Card Concept #182a

 Hello again!

I'm back this evening with a card for the Card Concept #182a.  There were two color palettes for this post but I have only gotten to the fall color scheme for now and I'll be back soon with the Christmas color palette.

I loved the color palette for this and immediately thought of a stamp set from Honey Bee Stamps called "Better Together".  I was inspired by the plaid water bottle and the apples.  I had some plaid paper with blue, orange, red and brown which was perfect for a popped up card front using craft foam.  I thought it could use a little bit more blue so I used Spectrum Noir markers to add a few additional blue lines to the plaid.

The little fox and chipmunk (?) are so cute!  There were perfect for this card challenge.

Global Design Project #365 Color Challenge

 Hello again,

I'm back today with a Christmas card (can it really be that late in the year?!) for the Global Design Project #365.  I have been making lots of fall cards lately for my Etsy shop but for this color scheme I decided to break out my Christmas stamps and dies.  I've seen some lovely poinsettia cards over the years and finally broke down and got some poinsettia dies this year.  I always hesitate to buy more Christmas supplies because they can only be used for such a small portion of the year, but since I plan to make all my own Christmas cards again this year (last year was the first time I accomplished that since I've had kids), I figured something new was justified.  ;).

This is such a pretty color palette:

Normally I stick to more traditional red and dark green for my Christmas cards, but I could just imagine pretty poinsettias in those pinks.  Here is what I came up with:

I just love the dimension those poinsettias provide.  The color is a little off no matter how I tried.  Unfortunately my good camera gave up the ghost and my phone camera just isn't cutting it.   I guess I know what to ask for for Christmas.

The Poinsettia die is from Momenta (Hobby Lobby) I hadn't used that brand before.  The sentiment is from Paper Rose.

Color Throwdown Challenge #714

Hello again!

I'm back today with a fall card for the Color Throwdown challenge #714.

#ctd714

For this card, I used a tag die from Hero arts to create the tag.  I die cut it first in white #110 cardstock for thickness, then again in yellow-striped paper from Doodlebug.  I cut the yellow paper at an angle and can use the upper portion on another tag.  I chose a blue background paper also from Doodlebug and cut a small strip to go diagonally across the tag. Next, I stamped the word Hello 3 times across the tag.  I popped up the tag with foam tape and added a sunflower which was cut with my Silhouette Portrait.  I added Glossy Accents to the center of the Sunflower to make it more interesting and it turned out great!  Like a giant enamel dot.  :)

I'll be back soon with more fall cards.  And you can check out my shop at etsy.com/shop/craftsbycamic

More fall cards

 Hi there,

Today I am back with some fall cards to share.  First though, I have changed the name of my blog to Crafts by Cami C and have recently opened an Etsy shop with the same name.

Here are a few of my fall creations.

The sunflower is a free cut file (SVG), the grain is from a Silhouette design store fall wreath and the leaves are dies.  "Thanks" sentiment is hand-letter Thanks from W Plus 9.

This card features gold nuvo drops, leaf dies, Hello die from Pinkfresh Studios, all popped up on foam tape.  The patterned paper is popped up on a sheet of craft foam for uniform height.

This card features the same leaf dies and "Hello, fall" sentiment from MFT stamps Autumn Blessings.  I scored the cream colored front of the card (put on a separate card base so the inside of the card wouldn't be scored). The circles are popped up with foam tape for dimension.  It's hard to see but the sentiment is embossed in gold.

Thanks for stopping by!  I'll be back soon with more fall cards.

Happy Fall! MFT Stamps slimline challenge

 Hello again!

Can it really be fall already?!  This year is flying by.  Today I have a mini-slimline card for a challenge by My Favorite Things.  The slimline challenge is to create a fall card.  I just received these darling pumpkin stamps and dies in the past few weeks and have been having a blast with them.

Autumn blessings stamps/dies from MFT Stamps, embossing folder from Stampin' Up!

I love the slimline and mini-slimline shape for mixing things up a bit.  Makes you think a little bit differently about how to fill the space as well.

I have started to sell some of my cards at a local gift shop and have another one in mind that is part of a garden nursery, so these cards are just some ideas I have and then I'll choose my favorites to take there.

Which one is your favorite?  I think mine is the 2nd one, but it's hard to say.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Leave a comment and come back soon!

Seize the Birthday! card challenge #245

 Hi again!

I'm back today with a few birthday cards for the Seize the Birthday card challenge.

The first card uses Papertrey ink "Growth" stamp set and dies for the plants and the sentiment is from Honey Bee Stamps.  I loved this color combo and figured it would work for masculine cards as well, which I always struggle with.

The next card is super simple but fun, and also a great masculine card.  I used the sentiments from Honey Bee Stamps again and some enamel dots and popped everything up on foam tape for added dimension.

The last one is a fun and colorful balloon-themed card.

Which one is your favorite?

Time Out Challenges - Be Kind

Hi there!

Hope your summer is going well so far.  We had a lovely trip to visit family and friends but it's good to be home and to get back to cardmaking.  Today I am participating in the Time Out Challenge- Be Kind

I remembered a stamp set from Stampin' Up! with a phrase about kindness in it, so I built the card around that.  The other stamps are Honey Bee Spring Peony set.  I had some lovely metallic pink paper from Amazon that I used for the background.

Thanks for stopping by!

Color Throwdown ctd698

Hi there,

Today I'm participating in the darling Color Throwdown ctd698 challenge.  I just love strawberries and had fun with this inspiration.

Here's my take on it:

The flower dies are from Spellbinders and the Strawberries are from Amazon, I think.  I've had them a few years.

Color Throwdown ctd692 Card Challenge

Today I'm participating in the Color Throwdown ctd692.  The colors are purple, pink, gold and white.

I wanted to try a full-card shaker card which I have never tried before, and I happened to have a confetti mix with butterflies in it as well as these colors.  Perfect!

My kids loved this.  Hope you do too!  Thanks for stopping by!

The Card Concept Card Challenge #

Today I am participating in the Card Concept challenge #175:

While I was down with Covid last week I watched some fun tutorial on shaker cards.  I haven't made any in a very long time, so it was time to try one out, and these colors are perfect because I happened to have confetti in just the right combo.

I was inspired by the colors and the lemons- circle shapes!

This was so fun to make and pretty simple once you create the areas for the sequins to go with foam tape.  I love the shape too- I don't make very many slimline cards but love this die with 3 circles.  My kids loved this card out of the three shakers I made.  The others will be featured soon!

Just Us Girls #631 - Flowers

Hello again! I've been looking for more card challenges to participate in and came across "Just Us Girls" for the first time this week.

The challenge for this week is flowers, and I had the perfect idea in mind. Last week while I was down with Covid, I watched several youtube videos on no-line watercolors. I wanted to try it with a beautiful stamp I inherited from my Grandmother that I also love to color with alcohol-ink markers. It worked well for this technique, and even though it was my first try, I was pleased with the results.

Even though I was going for a no-line look at the end, I still need practice with using fine paint brushes, so I ended up going around the image with a black marker to make a more finished look.  I also created a panel for the flower to sit on with the same colors and splattered some gold reinker as well as white gouche paint and tombow markers (I used those to paint the flower and background as well).

Although a lot of cardmakers use regular cardstock instead of watercolor paper, I decided to use watercolor paper for this technique.  I used craft foam to pop up the flower and the background so it would be even and the watercolor paper wouldn't buckle.  This stamp didn't come with a die so I fussy-cut it.

The Card Concept #174

Today I am participating in the Card Concept #174, "How Does Your Garden Grow?"  Here is the inspiration photo.  I immediately knew when I saw this photo and color scheme that I had to make a door card with flowers.

One of my favorite stamp sets ever is Stampin' Up! At Home.  I love the door and accessories and keep coming back to them over the years.

The embossing folder is also from Stampin' Up! and the card-base is polka-dotted embossed paper from Bazzill.

Altenew Color Combination Inspiration

I'm back today with another card challenge.  This time, Altenew's Color Combination Inspiration Challenge, Inspired by Nature.  See the challenge here.

Here is the inspiration photo:

I took the stripes very literally and used one of my favorite Altenew stamp sets and dies - Painted Flowers.  I love that these flowers look good in any color combinations.

Do these colors inspire you?  I'd love for you to leave a comment.  Thanks for stopping by!
